About Leo
Leo is the CEO and co-founder of The Decentralized Pictures Foundation. He is an Emmy Award winner who grew up in Toronto and has lived in Los Angeles for 15 years working in film production. Leo brings a balance of knowledge in film, technology and crypto-assets. Leo has been involved in smartphone application development since 2008, developing Artemis Director’s Viewfinder (2018 Engineering Emmy Award Winner), and Techscout Touch for Android and IOS. As an early adopter of Bitcoin, Leo began conceiving ways to bring blockchain technology to the entertainment industry, and its auditability and efficiencies to the filmmaking process. His primary goal is to help creative thinkers concentrate on what is important—the creative.

Decentralized Pictures is a 501c3 foundation to promote the cinematic arts. Founded by American Zoetrope, it is strategically aligned with the ethos of promoting independent film, creative collaboration, technology, and community. Decentralized Pictures intends to give access to all demographics especially those in underserved and underrepresented communities. It curates ideas and talent through its network and artificial intelligence.

About American Zoetrope
American Zoetrope is a privately run American film production company founded by Francis Ford Coppola (Academy Award winning The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, Bram Stoker’s Dracula) and George Lucas (Star Wars, THX1138, American Graffiti). American Zoetrope-produced films have received 15 Academy Awards and 68 nominations. American Zoetrope is now owned entirely by Coppola’s son and daughter, directors Roman Coppola and Sofia Coppola. Zoetrope.com, the Coppola family’s website, was created around 1996 and became an online community for writers. In 2016, Francis Ford Coppola announced its relaunch as a “virtual studio”.
